My favorite way to explore a new place is by walking, which means it's time to ditch the 4" heels (temporarily, of course) and put on your comfy shoes. I'm not gonna lie, I used to think comfortable travel shoes equaled ugly shoes, but I was 100% wrong. You can achieve comfort and style if you look in the right places.. and the right place, you came! Read on for my favorite travel-friendly shoes.

Both of these shoes are my go--to year round for travel. Not only are they super comfortable, but also very versatile. Wear them with shorts, jeans, or even a sun-dress. Perfect for walking many miles exploring a new city or country

Normally sandals have hard bottoms that if your feet could talk they would be screaming at you after a few hours, well not these! They're so plush that I think Katy Perry was talking about them when she sang, "I'm Walking on Air". The quality is very high and since they offer a lot of neutral colors, they never go out of style. (I've had mine for over 10 years!) Linked similar ones as mine are old  They are very supportive, light, and comfortable.

Many people have mixed feelings about Birks, but I absolutely love them. Now they do take a little while to break in, but once those puppies are broken in, you won't want to take them off. They make many different styles, so you can choose what suites you. I went with the 3 strap brown sandal, but now they have braided ones and many colors.

It's hard to find shoes when you're planning a trip to a colder destination. A lot of boots hurt your feet after a while, or they're too bulky to jam into a suitcase which your probably also trying to fit sweaters into. Ding Ding! These popped into the picture and they check all the marks. They are easy to fit into luggage and have yet to give me blisters (even though I've walked sooo many miles in them including on cobblestone!).

These are my tried and true for hiking boots. They're affordable, not bulky, cushioned, and they're waterproof. What else could you want? They kept me dry in Iceland under waterfalls, yet cool in Utah when hiking in warm weather.
